The Tutoring Committee serves to support the academic and professional development of both current members as well as candidates. Designated tutoring hours are held for the entire NYU Stern undergraduate class on Monday and Tuesday from 5:00pm - 6:30pm. During this time, students can seek assistance for classes in the areas of finance, accounting, and economics. In addition, the committee as well as voluntary BAP members are available to help edit resumes and conduct mock interviews in the fields of accounting and financial services.
The Tutoring Committee is also responsible for the Junior Prep Series, two sessions aimed to prepare juniors for the upcoming summer internship interviews. The series covers topics from common behavioral questions to the fundamentals behind the three financial statements and valuation techniques including comparable, precedent transaction, DCF and LBO analysis.
A General Timeline of the Semester:
The Tutoring Committee requires an even level of commitment throughout the semester as tutoring hours are held over the course of the entire academic session. Typically however, a higher number of students need assistance with resumes and mock interviews right before recruiting season. Finally, the Junior Prep Series is generally held over the course of two weeks in the month of November during the Fall semester.
