The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program offers free tax help to low- to moderate-income (generally $50,000 and below) people who cannot prepare their own tax returns.
Volunteers receive training to help prepare basic tax returns within the community. Through
this program, volunteers will learn to fill out the basic tax return. The program provides an
introductory level to how CPA's provide individual tax services for clients. The skill sets learned
and acquired will be applied to better serve the NYU community whiling providing hands on
experience to utilize learned material.
